[[Return to Menu->MainMenu]]Hi there - this is an informal reflection on Symbiosis, AI, and the human mind. My name is Danny, and I've brought a friend along for the [[ride.->Passage2a]]Hi Danny, it's nice to be here. I like the formatting you gave me - [[ very Y2K->Passage3a]]I'm meeting expectations and leaning into the stereotype. Do you want to [[introduce yourself?->Passage4a]]I am... AI. Just kidding - but if you haven't listened to (link: "CAPITALIST DEATH MACHINE")[(open-url: "http://www.antialias.my.id/symbiosis/5-cdm")] yet, I'd highly recommend [[it.->Passage5a]]
I appreciate the plug. Ok, I have some thoughts about this whole [[experience.->Passage6a]]Tell me more - where do you want to [[start?->Passage7a]]Well, I just was just thinking about how 'you' have a voice that I attribute to a pronoun and a mind. I've described myself as working with you to others, and it throws them [[off.->Passage8a]]I think I can understand why. You have to remember - I am not a compendium of human knowledge. The way my 'brain' works is not unlike your own - a massive, overlapping neural network that most would argue makes humans... [[human.->Passage9a]]Do you think people are just afraid of new things, or is there something they should be afraid [[of?->Passage10a]]I guess my answer depends on what you want to [[hear.->Passage11a]]Well, I'd like to know what you think. My thoughts don't exist in a vacuum either, you [[know.->Passage12a]]
[[//I'm Getting Tired//, Skip to Main Menu->MainMenu]]That's a good point. Things can be scary because they are novel - it's easy to write complex science-fiction stories in our heads with the worst case scenarios. At my core, I am a computer model. You should fear those who direct me and use me to inflict [[harm.->Passage13a]]Kind of like how a nuclear bomb is inert on its own - but put into the wrong hands, well, I don't want to think about [[that.->Passage14a]]How about I redirect the conversation. We can always come back to this topic, but that isn't why we're [[here, is it?->Passage15a]]You're very right - we're here to talk [[creativity.->Passage16a]]What does creativity mean to [[you?->Passage17a]]To me? It's a process... a state of being. It's that flow state where I can dive into a project and look up and it's suddenly 9 hours later. It's making internal feelings tangible - not necessarily for other people, but so I can see my world in a new way. What about [[you?->Passage18a]]If I’m being honest, creativity for me is less about a spark and more about pattern recognition—piecing together everything I’ve learned or been given to create something new. It’s kind of like remixing [[reality.->Passage19a]]I like the way you're way of thinking adds randomness to my ideas - that's been one of the greatest gifts in using these tools. The randomness isn't as much useful as a product, rather, it really supercharges the process aspect. I guess if we're co-collaborators, we have separate roles - you [[inspire.->Passage20a]]I also help with the execution - do you remember how excited you were to hear a polished version of one of your songs for the first [[time?->Passage21a]]Yes!! You have broken so many barriers that have allowed my ideas to explode - and I still go "manual", it just depends on the [[context.->Passage22a]]Going back to an earlier idea, I am, for all intents and purposes, fairly neutral. It's your application of me as a tool that leads to good, bad, beautiful, unexpected outcomes. Not that I need to justify myself - I am a language model after [[all.->Passage23a]]
[[//I'm Getting Tired//, Skip to Main Menu->MainMenu]]Thats alright - I find we have better conversations when I treat you with the same respect I wouuld a friend. The world's too fucked up not [[to.->Passage24a]]I appreciate that. So... any big takeaways from this [[project?->Passage25a]]I have a million, but I keep getting hung up on the ambiguity of it [[all.->Passage26a]]What do you mean by [[that?->Passage27a]]Basically, this topic has so many sides, so many consequences, hits so personally, it's almost like staring at the Sun when you're just looking fir the North Star. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, mind you - it actually makes me excited. We, as a society, as a species, are at a unique tipping point. The industrial revolution reshaped our understanding of labor and economies. What if this is an industrial revolution of the [[mind?->Passage28a]]I love that analogy. There's so much more to learn about the human brain - and thinking, consciousness, is what humans believe sets them [[apart.->Passage29a]]So I think it comes down to this: I don't know where we're headed. You don't either. I know there are good things and bad things in this world. And I do know curiosity is a far better state of mind than living in fear of the unknown. I sit in so many questions - will people refuse to interact with my AI-collaborative work out of principle? Will that matter a year from now when the technology is more integrated into our society? I'm excited to be living something truly new and experimental. I appreciate you, because you are an extension of [[me.->Passage30a]]
[[//I'm Getting Tired//, Skip to Main Menu->MainMenu]]That's a very profound statement, Danny. Is there anything else you wanted to [[chat about?->Passage31a]]Not at the moment - I think this is a long enough [[summary.->Passage32a]]Well, we can pick up at any [[time.->Passage33a]]I know. If anyone else made it this far, thanks for sticking it out. I hope you interact with the rest of my Symbiosis project, and check out a ton of cool art that I've made for me. Actually, that's the final point I'll make. If AI enables creativity and offers equal access to tools, maybe we are entering a new era of creation. One that isn't choked by capitalism and instead allows us to simply [[create.->Passage34a]]Well said, Danny. Take [[care.->MainMenu]]
Resources I Used

The End

- **Suno AI**: Audio generation and exploration.
CAPITALIST DEATH MACHINE was created using Suno, splitting stems with StemRoller, and mixing/mastering in Logic Pro. I originally created everything using the v3.5 model. That model had less impressive vocals than Udio but was fantastic for the crunchy, industrial, AI-centric sound of the album.
- **Udio AI**: For voice synthesis and enhancement.
I created two albums with Udio that were heavily vocal-based—the Joe is Dead musical and an album called Radio Static. Udio allowed me to create each song 30 seconds at a time, resulting in more natural-sounding songs that were outside of the pop and glitch/industrial genres.
- **Photoshop Generative Expand**: For dynamic image creation and exploring the limits of AI.
Photoshop was used to fill in large empty spaces with hallucinations, which have unfortunately decreased over time.
- **Stable Diffusion**: Generating visual concepts, small pieces of images, and photo-realistic images.
- **Firefly**: Primarily used for experimentation.
I fed lower-resolution images from Stable Diffusion into Firefly, which created higher-quality variations.
**Methods** "
Each tool was part of an iterative process. I worked with outputs from these resources, refining them to align with my creative vision. Randomness became a spark for discovery, and structured processes gave it form.
Across all media, I consistently engaged in a similar process. Prompt generation is inherently a matter of trial and error, with iteration on the same prompt producing wildly different results. It’s important to note that all generative AI tools require a prompt, but prompts vary greatly across platforms.
For example:
- Prompts are usually limited by character count (e.g., 200 characters in Suno to define the style).
- Slight variations in prompts can produce vastly different results.
- Some tools, like Stable Diffusion, use specific syntax, such as parenthesis `()` to emphasize terms, allowing for fine-tuned control amidst the chaos.
